The Lit Platform Relaunches

A new look and feel. A new focus. And a new quarterly digital magazine. The same passion for publishing and storytelling in all its forms.

We’re thrilled to announce we’ve been awarded £44,800 from Arts Council England (ACE) to help us to relaunch The Lit Platform, support our new quarterly digital magazine, The Lit, and develop a series of publishing initiatives that target underrepresented writers in the South West throughout 2020.

We’ve got great plans for The Lit Platform over the coming months, but as just a small taster of what’s to come, we’ll be engaging new audiences in the South West through literature events and mentoring schemes, relaunching the Fiction Uncovered Prize and through The Lit we’ll continue to explore, interrogate and celebrate the crossovers between technology, storytelling and publishing with partners across the region and nationally.

Anna Kiernan, co-director of the MA in Creativity at Exeter University, takes over from Sophie Rochester and Joanna Ellis in the role of publisher at The Lit Platform, supported by a newly-appointed team and steering committee that includes Atlantic Press Books’ Steve Braund, author and books journalist Cathy Rentzenbrink, PR director Colin Midson, Exeter University lecturer Dr Abram Foley and Vaishnavi Singh, rights and digital strategy at Penguin Random House, India and digital publisher.

The Lit Platform’s rebrand is being led by Falmouth-based design agency Venn Creative and the direction of The Lit by creative content studio Stranger Collective.

Sign up for The Lit’s newsletter to receive our first edition, which drops on 27 November and follow us @TheLitPlatform.
