The Literary Platform autumn events

It’s nearly autumn – traditionally the season when the book publishing industry works its fingers to the bone, engages in its extra-marital affairs at the Frankfurt Book Fair just before reaching near nervous breakdown point and knocking off for Christmas. While they’re beavering away The Literary Platform will be taking part in a series of autumn events – each with a slightly different look at the impact of digital publishing and how the book is changing.

TOC FRANKFURT

Then in mid-October it’s all about Frankfurt Book Fair. We’ve been working with TOC O’Reilly to help put together their Innovators’ Programme including a special Ignite session, which will be part of TOC Frankfurt taking place on Tuesday 11th October. We’ll also be chairing some of the Innovators’ Programme panels, as well as interviewing Dane Neller and Jason Friedman of On Demand Books on the main TOC stage about their Espresso Book Machine.

FRANKFURT BOOK FAIR

Then it’s off to the Frankfurt Book Fair halls to track down the most interesting digital stories breaking from the halls, reporting for the Frankfurt Book Fair blog. We’ll be taking a special look at the SPARKS programme – looking at what is being presented and talked about at the Hot Spots and during the StoryDrive conference.
