"I discovered Ginette's cafe in the summer of 2005, cycling through the Saône-et-Loire region. I returned there every summer for ten years before I begun photographing the cafe. I was moved by how the place was an interlude for people's loneliness. I wanted to depict this harsh but gentle rural community." - Emilie Hautier
