Diversity & Inclusion Manager – Hachette UK

Deadline: 16th March 2018

In 2016 a group of employees at Hachette UK, one of the UK’s largest book publishers, got together and formed a diversity and inclusion group to address the lack of diversity in the business both in terms of employees and the books and authors we are publishing. Since then, the group has grown to 120 members, and numerous sub-groups have formed and set up some brilliant initiatives including a Diverse Future Leaders Mentoring Programme, a school and university outreach, a partnership with the Stephen Lawrence Trust and UCL Publishing Summer School, paid 8-week internships and 12-month paid BAME traineeships, and half a dozen employee networks. All of these initiatives form part of our diversity and inclusion strategy, which we refer to as Changing the Story.

The Changing the Story programme has been so successful that we now need someone to join us to act as the focal point for all activities, initiatives and plans so that Hachette UK can make significant progress towards being the publisher and employer of choice for all people.  We’d love to hear from you if you have worked in the area of Diversity and Inclusion for some years previously, with a track record of building and maintaining wide networks of relationships and using them actively to inform and shape your thinking.
