Bloomsbury Content Services helps external partners inspire, inform and engage their audiences by providing them with innovative content, marketing and publishing services. We are looking for an experienced digital editor to lead and manage the successful development, configuration, launch and product lifecycle of BCS digital products. The first product to launch will be a partnership project, working with a private library to digitise and publish their collection of rare books and manuscripts for sale to university libraries.

Digital Development Publisher (Maternity cover contract) – Cambridge University Press

Cambridge University Press seeks a Digital Development Editor or Digital Development Publisher (depending on experience), to accelerate the growth of our digital portfolio across STM, social sciences and humanities publishing. The successful candidate will drive the launch of market-led born-digital products as well as those that unlock the value of our deep backlists across books and journals, working with Business Owners to draw up proposals for new products, features and models.

The Digital Development Editor/Publisher will also evaluate and deliver partnerships with selected 3rd party tools and services, and will take an active role in communicating digital strategies and capabilities to Academic colleagues. If recruited at Digital Development Publisher level, the successful candidate will also review leading lists and products and closely monitor Cambridge’s position by regular review of competitor strategies, products and services, recommending digital strategies that will drive new publishing initiatives, usage and profitability.

MIX 2017: Call for Papers and Presentations

MIX are interested in work that takes a wide variety of forms, including digital fiction and digital poetry, participatory media, digital art and text, collaborations between writers and technologists, hybrid and cross-media practice, transmedia practice, as well as their on-going themes of the future of the book, new forms of publishing, convergent media cultures and new forms of digital curation. They will also look for papers and presentations on digital and interactive theatre-making, including scriptwriting, performance and technology, and ambient literature, including mobile, locative, pervasive and other site-specific forms. As in previous conferences, papers that focus on pedagogy in any of these fields are also welcome.

GAME WRITING OPPORTUNITY – Writers’ Centre Norwich

You’ve heard of Zombies, Run! right?

It’s probably the most successful – and certainly the most creative – smartphone health and fitness app in the world and has topped the charts regularly since its launch in 2012. It’s been downloaded over 3 million times and its lead writer and co-creator, Naomi Alderman, has been responsible for the production of five seasons of this amazing game. Now she’s looking for two or three trainee writers to join her and see if they have what it takes to join the writing team for the next season. Story lining, editing, dialogue and ideas – you’ll have the chance to look at all of these skills as part of this traineeship, and if you excel, well, you’ll get an additional fee and a foot in the door of writing for games and the online world.
