Our ideal candidate is first and foremost in love with storytelling for kids and families. This means that they’ve taken a leading role in producing stories, probably in book form, at a publisher or entertainment company.

The person who takes this role will have worked for 5 years or so at an inspiring kid-focused company, with a job title such as ‘editor’. They will have shipped multiple projects with a strong mix of creative excellence and commercial success. Group Insight & CRM Executive – Hachette UK

Hachette UK is looking for a dynamic and passionate digital marketer to work within the Group Insight & CRM team.  This is an exciting opportunity to help push a data-driven approach to CRM and digital marketing across all publishing divisions of the Hachette UK group and build a consumer-led culture.

Acting as an internal consultant to our publishing houses, you’ll be the go-to expert for our digital marketing tools Adobe Campaign and Falcon.io. The role is also responsible for ensuring our publishers maximise their use of the latest email and social media marketing and digital insight techniques – so you’ll need to keep yourself up-to-speed with what’s going on in the industry. To close the loop, you’ll help to ensure we report fully on all marketing activities carried out, using a range of tools including Google Analytics, and then present these results back to senior members of the team. We are looking for a brand new Editor to join our growing Audio division. You will play a key role in the running of the editorial team, and together with external partners, bring our audio publishing and content creation to new heights.

Our mission is to ensure that Penguin Random House Audio is the publisher of choice for authors, performers and production talent, and the part you’ll play in this role will be central to that.

Your day-to-day work will be varied. You could be casting, scheduling and managing studio bookings through to close work on text breakdowns and briefs for readers and studios. Managing US buy-in titles will fall under your remit, and you’ll be expected to have your ear to the ground for potential new acquisitions.

You’ll spend time in the studio too, and will have close contact with sound editors to brief production expectations, including SFX and music briefs where needed.

Portfolio and Product Manager – Penguin Random House

We have an opportunity for someone to join our Digital Development team as Portfolio Product Manager for a period of six months, covering a sabbatical within the team.

Your purpose will be to work with the creative and marketing teams across the Penguin Random House business to manage the maintenance and updates of backlist apps and websites within the support and maintenance programme.

How this is done will be up to you – you’ll be using your digital expertise to define the programme and processes and get the team around you on board with it.

Marketing Manager – Atlantic Books

An exciting, hands-on role has become available at Atlantic Books that requires an experienced marketer with an absolute passion for books. You must be adept at consumer and digital marketing, copywriting, social media management and working with third parties, as well as knowledgeable about book marketing trends and campaigns. Proven track record with authors and brands is key, as is the ability to work both independently and collaboratively, be creative and be able to contribute pro-actively to the successful publishing of commercial fiction and literary fiction and non-fiction.

Job Specifications

The Marketing Manager is responsible for the trade and consumer marketing campaigns across Atlantic, Corvus and Allen & Unwin, in conjunction with the publicity team and as directed by the Head of Campaigns. The role involves managing the marketing budget to develop and implement marketing activity across all platforms to drive profitable sales and strengthen key genres and author brands. You will be responsible for trade marketing, sales support and conferences, as well as social media platforms, digital marketing campaigns, acquisition pitches, branding and general marketing.

You must have 3-4 years’ experience in marketing in publishing or the arts, preferably at a managerial level. You’ll be the go-to person for marketing in this small and vibrant indie publisher, so you must be good at multi-tasking and being a self-starter. Good communications skills are key, as is decent knowledge of digital marketing, retail channels, a wide-range of genres and what makes readers tick in our technology-obsessed world.

Website Digital Manager – The Heritage Lottery Fund

The Heritage Lottery Fund is recruiting for a Website and Digital Manager who will be responsible for the management and development of all Heritage Lottery Fund (HLF) and National Heritage Memorial Fund (NHMF) branded digital channels.
