New Arts Council podcast now live

The Arts Council‘s third podcast, “Using digital channels and technologies to distribute arts and cultural content“, is now live on their iTunes and SoundCloud channels.

Studio guests include Hasan Bakshi, Director of creative industries in Nesta’s Policy and Research Unit, Paul Bennun, Chair of Artangel and co-owner of Somethin’ Else Productions and our own Joanna Ellis, from The Literary Platform.

The guests dissect some of the issues involved in sharing content digitally, for example licensing and copyright, strategic partnerships with the likes of YouTube and SkyArts, the new dawn of social literature projects in China and the risks around cannibalising ticket sales with live streams.

The episode also features The Royal Ballet, who have been live streaming with YouTube, the Berlin Philharmonic talking about infrastructure cost and subscription mechanisms for broadcasting orchestral concerts, and a host of other fascinating interviews and discussions around digital and the arts.

Download/subscribe to the podcast series on the Arts Council England iTunes channel, listen and share via SoundCloud.
