Heuristic and Thames & Hudson launch Cyclepedia app

Heuristic Media and Thames & Hudson launch today their Cyclepedia app today – a fully interactive collection of 100 bicycles that changed cycling history.

Stephen Fry has called it “As mesmerisingly beautiful an iPad app as you could ever hope to see. Full of innovative but intuitive ways to navigate this is the most beautiful, informative and deliciously lovely guide to bicycle design as you can imagine.”

From the suitcase-sized Skoot to the Olympic Gold medal-winning Lotus Sport 110, every bicycle is displayed in stunning clarity and technical detail. 360ยบ spins and 20 times magnification of each component allows you to compare and appreciate all the elements of this rich celebration of cycling culture, innovation and design.

Selected from Michael Embacher’s unique collection of over two hundred bicycles, CYCLEPEDIA recounts each one’s fascinating story. It also includes video clips, original brochures, contemporary advertising, engineering drawings, rare stills and links to manufacturers’ sites.

Patrick Uden, one of the four co-founders of Heuristic Media gives The Literary Platform readers an exclusive peak at how it was made in this feature: How we photographed Cyclepedia.
