Enhanced Editions, the London-based digital publisher behind the celebrated Bunny Munro and Wolf Hall iPhone apps, has announced a partnership with AudioGO (previously BBC Audiobooks) to produce enhanced versions of landmark titles and best-sellers from the BBC Archive.
AudioGO publish bestsellers such as The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy, The Lord of the Rings and Philip Pullman’s His Dark Materials as well as landmark recordings including Under Milk Wood and Winnie the Pooh, read by Richard Burton and Alan Bennett respectively, and the recent BBC Radio 4 John Le Carre dramas.
For the first time, Enhanced Editions will create enhanced ebook apps for the iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch by bringing together unabridged audiobooks from AudioGO’s extensive list, with a range of texts, images, and video content from the BBC Archive.
Rhys Cazenove, co-founder of Enhanced Editions said:
“AudioGO has a catalogue of contemporary and classic fiction, drama, history and biography, plus unrivalled access to the BBC Archive. Through this first-of-its-kind partnership, we’re thrilled to bring these titles to a new generation of digital consumers.”
The first enhanced edition will be published in the run-up to Christmas.
