Lecturer in Creative Writing/Creative and Professional Writing

University of Winchester – English, Creative Writing and American Studies is seeking an experienced full-time lecturer to teach, tutor and assess the work of Creative Writing students at both Undergraduate and Masters’ level.

The post holder will play an active role as a team member for the Creative Writing programmes at Winchester in terms of module leadership, curriculum development, learning and teaching innovation, and also contributing to the national and international profile of the subject team through the ongoing publication and dissemination of their writing and research.

Applicants must have previous experience teaching on writing modules in higher education and expertise in professional writing areas (including, but not limited to, Publishing, Copywriting, E-books, journalism, or web-writing).

Our Cornerstone division is looking for a Copywriter & Metadata Specialist who understands how people search online today, the words people use to discover books (written or spoken) and what persuades them to click and to convert to purchase.

This is an opportunity for someone with a flair for copywriting to take on a new role within our division – and to work with marketing, editorial and our metadata teams to develop a new approach that will maximize our visibility and sales online. In-house this role is called Creative Metadata Copywriter.

You’ll establish and review the book copy and keywords that feed out to online platforms and market places, ensuring our books are discoverable online and that our copy echoes the conversations people are having around them.

Assistant Content Producer/ Copywriter – BBC iPlayer

We are looking for someone who can bring their passion for the BBC’s TV output to millions of iPlayer users every week.

You will work as the lead Copywriter in the iPlayer Editorial Team, ensuring copy accurately reflects the tone of each programme and drives engagement across the curated feeds and playback pages on iPlayer.

Working with the Editorial Manager, you will work with partners to ensure editorial output on iPlayer is of the highest standard and meets the standard laid out in the copy style guide. You’ll have a keen eye for detail both in writing copy and more broadly as you work with colleagues in Design and Engineering on the development of iPlayer.

You will also be expected to support other editorial activities within the team, publishing and optimising content across iPlayer and TV programme pages as required.

Development and Communications Officer – Literature Wales

Literature Wales is offering a new one year full-time work placement starting in February 2018 as part of the Weston Jerwood Creative Bursaries Programme.

This post is offered as part of the Weston Jerwood Creative Bursaries programme, aimed specifically at recent graduates from low-income backgrounds looking to start a career in the arts.

Employment experience is not essential for this role – we’re more interested in your potential and the skills you may have acquired in other aspects of your life. All we ask is that you’re curious person with lots of drive and energy, and a determination to carve out a career in the arts. You’ll also need to have strong literacy skills.

The Development and Communications Officer will establish data analysis and evaluation models and develop new ways of communicating the impact of Literature Wales’ work. This is a new role bridging the Development and Communication teams, strengthening the links between our evaluation methods and our internal and external communications.

Trustworthy Tech Programme Manager -Doteveryone

We are seeking a self-starting, collaborative and organised Trustworthy Tech Programme Manager with proven experience of hands-on research and great communication skills. You will be able to combine thinking and doing to lead delivery of the Trustworthy Tech System programme, build relationships and get the best out of the prototypes we create and research we undertake to create practical improvement in how internet tech is developed in industry.

We welcome applications from people who want to work a 3, 4 or 5 day week. The role is for a six month contract, starting as soon as possible in 2018.

The Trustworthy Tech Programme Manager will drive forward a range of activities, using hands-on research and analysis, developing new partnerships, and communicating our ideas and results through the program. This will include applying their research skills to co-design prototype programs, create materials for participating organisations, support participants, gather, organise and analyse results, and write blog posts, articles and longer reports to share what we do and learn. This fast-paced role requires working with a diverse range of stakeholders and will see you connect the project team and potential partners (including consumer groups, civil society organisations, industry associations and more).

Digital Project Assistant – Bloomsbury

Working within the Bloomsbury Education team, this role will provide key administrative support for digital projects, and also offer the opportunity to develop editorial skills.

This is a part-time role working two and a half days per week. Days are flexible, but ideally to include Monday and Friday as full days plus one other half day.

The role
-Assisting with all aspects of a digital platform for educational publishing
-Managing the preparation and upload of content
-Liaising with digital, editorial, authors and designers to keep projects on schedule
-Editorial duties including proofreading, copy editing and copy writing for web
-Assisting with preparation of materials for sales and marketing
-Responding to general queries and assisting in other administrative tasks as required
