Python Bytes for iPhone

Featuring the 22 sketches from the first series of Monty Python’s Flying Circus, the Python Bytes app for iPhone, created by our client Heuristic Media, features exclusive commentaries from the Pythons, a digital autograph feature and the ability to shuffle onto the next sketch with just the shake of your iPhone.

We worked with Heuristic to devise a communications and events strategy and worked with Apple’s marketing and App teams to launch the product.

We worked to create an exclusive Pythons event at Apple and delivered a packed out Q&A and signing session with Michael Palin, Terry Gilliam, Terry Jones and Carol Cleveland chaired by Edith Bowman – with specially recorded input from John Cleese – at Apple’s Regent Street store in May 2012. The public event was preceded by a private Q&A exclusively for Apple staff from around the world.

Alongside the communications campaign we ran for the app itself, which included coverage in the Guardian, The Verge, and Huffington Post, we worked with Apple’s PR team to run communications for the event, including behind-the-scenes media interviews. The campaign as a whole helped raise Heuristic’s profile, establishing them as ones to watch in the minds of key technology reviewers.
