Launchpad is an Ideas Incubator and an Investor in Early Stage and Entrepeneurial businesses based in Guernsey. It is a group of individuals that want to bring people together who share core beliefs and ethics – and who want to effect positive change in Guernsey and beyond. It aims to invest our time and resources only in projects that inspire us and others.
Launchpad came to The Literary Platform in 2012 looking to see how developments in digital publishing might interest its network of investors, and to see how a programme of events might stimulate interest and research in the area.
We pulled together experts from the fields of publishing, digital writing and interactive TV to gather in Guernsey in September 2012 to discuss the rise of digital publishing and what it means for authors, readers and publishers.
The discussions, sponsored by Jersey Telecom and Launchpad Digital, were part of the second annual Guernsey Literary Festival. Industry experts debating the future of publishing include speakers from Random House, Channel 4, and the Bookseller.
We are continuing to work with Launchpad working on the development of a digital publishing project on the Island of Sark.
