Unbound is a uniquely innovative, award-winning and rapidly growing publisher and platform. We publish a broad range of books from established literary names to bloggers and YouTube stars. All our titles are crowdfunded by an audience passionate about making them available to the general reader.
We’re seeking an enthusiastic candidate to join our crowdfunding team, helping authors to work with their networks to get the support to help them get their books funded.
You will be a key link in the process that gets great writing published, working within our crowdfunding team and with authors to create, and help implement, crowdfunding strategies.
You will help teach authors the key skills in crowdfunding and understand the key elements of marketing campaigns through email, social media and direct contact. You’ll undertake audience research, locate the key communities and the people who influence them, create and distribute content. You’ll work with authors to handle their queries, create campaigns, build an understanding of what works when it comes to getting books funded, and have the technical skills to deliver.

This is an exciting time to join our growing Author and Marketing Solutions team as an Email Marketing & Audience Acquisition Manager.
We’re looking for someone with a few years’ digital marketing background with experience working with ESPs and CRM systems; Adestra would be a bonus. You’ll need to be confident handling consumer data and coding both CSS and HTML. You’ll also have knowledge of marketing automation, CRM and personalisation tools. We’re keen to know if you have experience with A/B testing tools, Google analytics, Excel and Photoshop. A background in the retail and entertainment industry would be great, but not essential.
You’ll manage the author sign-up lists across the business, making sure that the data captured is useful, we’re engaging with what the consumer wants, and we’re keeping their attention once we’ve got it. We are currently seeking a graduate-level candidate to work on our ground-breaking digital publishing products which are mainly produced in XML. These products range from Drama Online, which reproduces a wealth of plays, from the Shakespearean to the 20th century, through to the Berg Fashion Library visual arts archive, Bloomsbury Food Library, Design Library, Popular Music, Cultural Histories and many others. We are currently looking for someone to work in our London office on permanent contract, to undertake quality assurance (QA), testing and management of the platforms XML content.
This is an exciting opportunity to work for an award-winning publishing house and be a part of its growing digital team.
Responsibilities will include (but will not be limited to):
- Checking XML coded texts against source editions for structural and textual errors.
- Following automated and manual routines and checklists systematically in order to identify and rectify errors in the XML files.
- Inputting and checking any required metadata and taxonomy indexing to aid discoverability of XML texts.
- Testing online content on Bloomsbury platforms to identify data/platform issues.

Digital Product Assistant – Oxford University Press

- Carry out project work to assist with content builds, testing, QA, bug tracking and metadata.

- Report and resolve issues with digital content and production builds.
- Monitor tickets and answering queries or redirect, as appropriate.
- Help with training and support activities for content tools and production processes.
The successful candidate will have:
- Junior level experience of working on digital projects.
- Basic understanding of project management tools and methodologies.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Project and Excel or other project management tools.
