Freelance Digital Marketing Manager – HarperCollins Children’s

Digital Marketing Executive – HarperCollins

Our Group Marketing team are looking for a Digital Marketing Executive to play an important role within the Group Marketing team, with responsibility for delivering the Group email programme (including BookPerk, HarperCollins email), and managing and developing our HarperCollins Facebook and Instagram accounts.  The person in this role will form part of a centre of excellence in social and email communications, supporting the HarperCollins Marketing community with best practice training and guidance.  This role will oversee our CRM database and own the relationships with our data management partners.  This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with prior marketing experience and a good mix of analytical and creative skills.

Lecturer in Digital Approaches to Literature – University of London

The Institute of English Studies (IES), in the School of Advanced Study (SAS) at the University of London, wishes to appoint a Lecturer in the field of Digital Approaches to Literature. The successful person will have expertise in the technical skills essential to digital research, digital scholarly editing, expertise in any area of literary studies and a broad outlook across the whole field.  The IES wishes to expand its provision in digitally-based scholarship which currently focuses on textual editing. We are looking for someone with new ideas to enlarge our provision and facilitate the work of others.  Areas of interest to us include the following, and candidates will be expected to have demonstrable expertise in one or more of these (which are listed in no order of preference) as well as being informed about digitally-based textual editing.

With a proven track record of delivering innovative digital media marketing activity across social media, email and online advertising platforms; the ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate excellent copy writing, editing and proofreading skills, have experience of monitoring and controlling budgets and be confident in their ability to analyse and interpret complex data. You will have a working knowledge of, or background in literature and solid experience of implementing successful marketing campaigns within the context of the wider arts and cultural sector.

Metadata Analyst – Penguin Radom House

As Metadata Analyst, you’ll be responsible for updating metadata for books already published so that their keywords, categorisations and copy still hits the mark, and tap into the wider conversations surrounding our audiences.

Reporting to the Senior Metadata Analyst, you’ll be working closely with the editorial, marketing and bibliographic teams to create and curate high-quality metadata, gather data from search and social platforms, test the impact on sales rankings with different online retailers, and communicate your findings to the wider business.

You won’t be content to let things happen by themselves. You’ll be curious to continuously measure the impact of our metadata by running inventive experiments to understand consumer behaviour. You’ll also monitor key titles and genres, creating reports that provide recommendations on how we can ensure our books surface at the top of search queries.

As you’ll be manipulating both quantitative and qualitative data, you’ll have analytical experience and confidence in your ability to use different data sources to solve complex analytical problems. You’ll also have forensic attention to detail, methodical approach to problems and ability to analyse the impact of what you are doing.

Editorial Assistant (BFI2022), British Film Institute

The BFI’s aim is that eventually everyone across the UK will be able to easily access and enjoy the UK’s remarkable collections of film and television. We are looking for someone to contribute to the development and shaping of a major new programme of digitisation under the BFI2022 banner. Working with the Senior Curator and several teams across the BFI, you will undertake archival research, provide support for the BFI’s digital platforms and oversee the presentation of online programmes.

Alongside a relevant degree or similar qualification, you will have outstanding editorial and written communication skills, and a keen interest in the history of British film and – especially – television. You will also be a highly competent administrator.
