After a heart-stopping flurry of emails over the last week as Amazon questioned my copyright to ‘Where the Devil Can’t Go’, yesterday the ebook version finally landed on Kindle Store. The copyright issue may have arisen because I also have a non-digital publisher (Random House Germany) and the Amazonians did eventually accept my assurances – and those of my agent, Ivan Mulcahy. But I still don’t understand why Amazon won’t (as far as I can make out) allow authors simply to upload their ebooks in advance and name a future launch date, which would eliminate any last minute panics.
