Natur Och Kultur, Sweden’s third largest publishing house, invited us to speak at a company conference focusing on the impact of digital technology and the network on book publishing. Sweden’s e-book market is in the early stages of development and Natur Och Kultur wanted an overview of how the UK market had evolved, and what lessons, if any, might be applicable to Sweden.

We presented a talk called the Transformation of British Publishing in which we outlined the key shifts in UK publishing over the last 5 years from the shape of the e-book market, down-pricing and self-publishing to new business models and creative forms and provided analysis on what is driving this change as well as examples of how UK publishers are adapting to meet the challenges and opportunities presented by these changes.
