At this year’s Frankfurt Book Fair, Faber Children’s announced a major three book deal with MetaWars author Jeff Norton, with his latest book Adam Meltzer: Memoirs of a Neurotic Zombie.
Leah Thaxton, Publisher, Children’s books, secured World Rights for the books from Zoe King at The Blair Partnership, the team behind Harry Potter.
Jeff Norton is an author pushing the boundaries of publishing in every project he works on. He believes in applying a Pixar iterative approach in the development of his books, something he talked about at the FutureBook Innovation Workshop in 2012, and is experimenting constantly in form and in publishing business model.
Also a producer and filmmaker in multiple media, Norton is currently producing the TV adaptation of Jon Scieszka’s best-selling book series TRUCKTOWN with Nelvana and developing his first feature film, THE CALLING, with UK’s MultiStory Films.
Before his own writing career, Norton spent three years managing the literary estate of Enid Blyton, Britain’s best-loved author. He also optioned and acquired the entertainment rights to the best-selling “Choose Your Own Adventure” books. With a vision to “entertain, engage, and educate” children, Norton generated the original creative concept and led the development of this landmark property, turning a “second person” narrative into an award-winning feature. “Choose Your Own Adventure: The Abominable Snowman”.
Norton’s latest novel, Adam Meltzer: Memoirs of a Neurotic Zombie, was written during a visit to his home town in Canada in the library of the school he attended as a child, and believes that being back in his school environment helped him channel the voice of Adam.

Adam Meltzer: Memoirs of a Neurotic Zombie is narrated by Adam Meltzer – pre-teen, worrywart, and now zombie. The book is aimed at readers of ages 10 and up.
Adam Meltzer: Memoirs of a Neurotic Zombie will be released in October 2014, as a Faber Children’s lead Christmas title.
